It’s official! After a couple of weeks of speculation, today was the day that the artist behind this year’s championship anthem was revealed. As many have speculated, Linkin Park is the band that performs the Worlds 2024 Anthem under the name “Heavy is the Crown”. In a show yesterday in Hamburg Germany, the band performed the song for the first time. Undeniably, it gives us a taste of what vibe we should expect from the Worlds 2024 finals opening ceremony.
Only yesterday, Riot Games started the countdown to the Worlds 2024 anthem countdown on YouTube. What we didn’t expect, however, was waking up to the song already being performed by Linkin Park in their latest concert.
Scheduled or not, we always love a surprise.
Love it or not, the song is a banger.
As for the music video, it is set to release tomorrow afternoon, featuring what seems like animated versions of the band’s members. The last time Riot Games featured the artists in animation in the music video was back in Enemy by Imagine Dragons and we love the extra mile on that front.
Some might say that “Heavy is the Crown” isn’t your typical Worlds anthem. However, neither was Starwalkin or Ignite at their time. Furthermore, rock and metal fans can take the W and hype hard at the fact that this year’s featured song is performed by one of the biggest nu-metal bands of all time. More so, since it’s during Linkin Park’s big return.
The Worlds 2024 anthem is Heavy is the Crown and will be present in the band’s new album. The full album, From Zero releases on November 15th. For the record, the Worlds 2024 Anthem, Heavy is the Crown will be track 4 in the upcoming Linkin Park album.
