A wild speculation is going around these past few days around the lol competitive community, one that the LolEsports Twitter account has helped stir quite a lot. Fans are speculating right now that this years’ Worlds anthem will be performed by Linkin Park. Although this looks like a stretch, there are a few crumbs that we can follow to get even more excited. Let’s take a look at what we know right now about the possibility of Linkin Park performing the Worlds 2024 anthem.
As many old-school nu-metal fans already know, Linkin Park has made a big comeback last week following the announcement of a new female lead singer. The announcement came with a concert to show of the band’s current state and we can’t help but be in awe with the outcome. Who was also excited for the comeback? Apparently, LolEsports!
In a post about Linkin Park’s concert on Twitter, Lolesports went ahead and commented a crown.
One might say, this is a huge stretch, you people are chasing fairies. Let’s say we take a look at Lolesports’ replies on the platform. The admin is reposting quite a lot of posts, all of which originate from the original brand’s leagues. We see LCK, LCS, LEC etc and… Linkin Park.
Clue number 2. In the Spotify presave page for Linkin Park’s new album, fans were quick to notice that there’s a song named “Heavy is the Crown”. Undeniably, this would be a name fitting for Worlds 2024. This raises even more suspicions since the comment we mentioned above was a crown.
Moving on to clue number 3 and the fact that Linkin Park has a week-long pause in their tour, right during the week of Worlds 2024 finals. This indeed is a stretch, but we can only hope to see them live in London in November.
Last but not least, in the latest Twitter post announcement by Lolesports, where we learn that the anthem song will be released on September 24th, we see (what a surprise) a crown.
Now, all we can do is wait for two weeks in order to know for sure what the Worlds 2024 Anthem will be and whether or not Linkin Park will be the performer. For what it’s worth, fans never let go of such details and we are totally here for it.
