The release of the 4.4 patch in Wild Rift is near, initiating the launch of new champions, skin lines, and more. As you might already know, updates in Wild Rift roll out in smaller batches much like the 4.3 update. This time, we have 3 new champions releasing, a new game mode, and a pet system coming to Wild Rift.
Continue reading to see what’s in store for Wild Rift update 4.4.
New Champions
According to the latest patch preview, update 4.4 will bring the release of 3 new champions: Fiddlesticks, Sivir, and Zyra. All three are stable picks in League of Legends and will prove more than annoying in the mobile as well. Fiddlesticks can be close to none in the jungle with his ultimate while Sivir is a force to be reckoned with in the marksman role. As for Zyra, she’s a resourceful champion that can perform well both in the middle lane and the support role.
Champion Rework
Apart from the release of new champions, Riot Games intends to rework two champions that are already available in Wild Rift.
For starters, Sona will get a powerful update on her passive, which will now allow her to stun enemies on basic attack after using 3 spells. In addition, her ultimate is changing. Now it can move towards enemies slowly, stunning more enemies and not punishing Sona for using it too quickly.
The next champion to get an update is Ziggs. After update 4.4, he will be able to trigger his passive on structures, and his ultimate is made easier to auto-cast and aim the right targets.
New Game Mode
After a few recent leaks, we finally have the confirmation of Arena, a new 2v2v2v2 mode with the use of Augments much like in League of Legends. It will be interesting to see which champions will prevail in this mode, although we can speculate. Champions like Jax, Garen, and Master Yi will prove useful in the duo-fighting mode.
System Update
In terms of client quality, Riot Games is introducing the launch of pets. You might remember those from League of Legends in the form of Little Legends from Teamfight Tactics. The specifics of their summoning is not specific just yet but we’ve seen that a new currency will come to play in order to invite pets into your game.
Gameplay Update
Dragons are an essential part of Wild Rift and Riot Games invests a lot in their presence. That’s why the developer team is introducing a new buff to players that kill 3 dragons in a row, based on the first dragon killed. This will give an urgency to objectives, even though we don’t know what this buff will exactly be.
Ranked Season
The new ranked season is starting soon too, this time around bringing a skin for Ashe as a reward.
Wild Pass
As it happened with patch 4.3, 4.4 will also come with 2 Wild Passes. The first will highlight Psychic Detective Ekko as its reward. The second will see the release of Dragonslayer Kayle, sometime around the middle of the patch.
