Soul Brawl is a brand new limited game mode for Teamfight Tactics, that has been introduced to players as a part of the current Soul Fighter event. Players were quick to notice though that one of the weirdest ways to win in this mode is to stay AFK. Why are players staying AFK in TFT Soul Brawl and how does winning work?
To start off with the AFK tactic in TFT Soul Brawl, you’ll need to get Tam Kench as your legend. He will give you access to powerful gold-stacking augments. You’ll need those in order to stock up as much as possible before the tournament begins.
The second thing you’ll need to do is pick all those Tam Kench augments and never pick any unit to put in your board unless it’s one of the following champions:
- Aatrox
- Ahri
- Bel’Veth
- Heimerdinger
- K’Sante
- Ryze
- Senna
- Sion
Those are the most OP units in TFT right now and they can single-handily give you a win even without trait combos.

Now how does being AFK in TFT Soul Brawl work? Basically, in this mode, before the tournament starts, you lose no health, instead you gain points. The way matching works in the tournament is symmetrical. The first player with the last, the second with the second to last, etc. That’s where your power comes out. You stack gold, gain the item advantage in the carouses since you can pick units first, and then wait until the battle before the tournament to spend your money on getting to level 9 and get as many units as possible from the list above.
Now, it’s all up to luck and positioning. If you’ve managed to 2-star your great damage dealers like Ahri, Bel’Veth or Aatrox, you can brawl it out with the first player and move on to the semifinals. Using this tactic, you’ll have more gold than your opponents, and better units but will have to play against the first player. This is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
Will you try being AFK in TFT Soul Brawl?
