Milio, The Gentle Flame is Riot’s first champion for 2023 and his abilities have finally been revealed!
The 163rd champion in the League of Legends roster was teased last year. Riot released more information about the elemental character in a blog post. There, readers can learn more about the creative process behind Milio, his theme, and his lore.
Milio is supposed to be an enchanter support played primarily in the bot lane. He will be the 7th Ixtal champion and the first new one since Qyiana back in 2019. In addition, Milio has a fire theme going on – creating an interesting contrast with his supporting kit.
Milio, The Gentle Flame Abilities
With his abilities being revealed players are already forming strong opinions about the boy from Ixtal. On one hand, his rather simplistic and straightforward kit is being celebrated. On the other hand, players and respected figures in the community are concerned that his abilities are overloaded – potentially leading to an Yuumi 2.0 situation.
For now, all we can do is wait for his release on PBE and his numbers as those can make or break the champion despite the power of his kit.
Passive – Fired Up!
Milio’s abilities enchant allies on touch making their next damage deal a burst of extra damage and burn the target.
Q – Ultra Mega Fire Kick
Milio kicks that knocks back an enemy.
The ball launches upward on hit and falls towards the enemy, damaging and slowing enemies in the area upon impact.
W – Cozy Campfire
Milio creates an empowering zone that heals allies and increases attack range to those inside.
The zone follows the ally nearest to the cast point and can be recasted.
Note: Riot has stated Attack Range increase is 10%-20% based on ability level.
E – Warm Hugs
Milio tosses a shield to an ally temporarily increasing their movement speed.
R – Breath of Life
Milio unleashes a wave of soothing flames that heal and remove crowd control effects from allies in range.
Note: Riot has stated Milio can’t cast this to self-cleanse when he’s CC’d (Silence, stunned, etc) and it has a long cooldown.
