League of Legends Patch 13.3 has landed and Riot are keeping a close eye on the first-day player feedback and win percentages. Significant highlights of the update were the Aurelion Sol CGU and Annie buffs. However, not even half a week after the patch release, it seems Riot thinks they have overturned the champions.
Last night @RiotPhroxzon took to Twitter to announce the hotfix changes which you can also read here.
Annie exploded onto the rift with a scorching 59% win rate during the first day of the patch which has slowly descended to roughly 55% in both midlane and support.
On the other hand, Aurelion Sol peaked around 50% upon release but that percentage should be given context as numbers don’t tell the whole story. Given that his CGU is practically an entirely new champion we should remember that new releases usually have low win rates.
As players learn and optimize the champion it is only natural that its success increases too. With all that said Riot have decided to preemptively take away some of Aurelion Sol’s power, mainly hitting his scaling.
