2011 was one of the best early years of League of Legends (LOL) with some of its best champions releasing back then. When it comes to both solo queue and competitive there are some champions that left and still leave a mark in the game. What if we told you that 2011 was a year for LoL that had more than 20 champions releasing and most of them are still quite OP? With champions like Caitlyn, Lee Sin, Rumble, Jarvan, Karma, and Vayne being on this list, you can only imagine how strong 2011 is.
With 24 total champions released, 2011 is one of those years where LoL managed to create its diverse lineup and expand gameplay way further than its original roster. For the sake of information, 2011 is practically still Season 1 of League of Legends. Season 2 launched in late November 2011, with 2 of this list’s champions being the first to launch in Season 2.

Remember back in its first seasons where League of Legends saw the release of more than 20 champions in a year? Yes, us neither. However, with the introduction of competitive play and the expansion of its playstyle, it only made sense for Riot Games to slow down and release less and less champions each year.
