Just when we thought that Riot Games might be reusing the same skin aesthetic time and time again, as we saw with the recent release of the Immortal Journey skin line, the artists surprised us once more. A brand new theme is coming to LoL in patch 13.19, the La Ilusion with 6 new skins and it’s one that we can’t help but get excited about.
La Ilusion is inspired by Dia de los Muertos, or the day of the day, arguably the most popular Mexican tradition through the years. Dia de los Muertos is known for its playful yet morbid aesthetics, with skull-like masks, colorful beasts, and flowers. If you are not familiar with the celebration itself, you might want to check up on the Disney movie Coco, a true ode to the Day of the Dead.
Back to the La Ilusion skin line. There are 5 champions getting a new skin in this thematic, with one of them receiving a Prestige skin too. Draven, Gnar, Nidalee, Qiyana, and Ziggs are receiving a new outfit while Renata Glasc will get two, including her new prestige skin. Take a look at the splash art for the La Ilusion skins below:
