A new rumor started circling yesterday in the world of League of Legends, implying that there’s a boyband coming to the universe for Worlds 2023. The rumor has previously been leaked in Wild Rift. Things start to add up somehow. We saw Ateez teasing that they were visiting Riot Games. The Wild Rift leaks show new skins for Yone and Ezreal. Now, we also get one of League’s biggest leak sources on Twitter claiming that the boyband will release just in time for the Worlds 2023 finals.
It doesn’t seem as a surprise for Riot Games to drop a KPOP boyband during Worlds 2023 for League of Legends. The tournament takes place in Korea and KPOP is a huge part of the country’s culture. Last year, we saw Riot Games releasing a new song to accompany the Empyrean skin line just in time for the finals. It only makes sense for them to do it again, only to stir things up with the finals opening performances.
We already have New Jeans performing GODS as the Worlds 2023 anthem but Riot Games never goes short with only one song. Prominent League of Legends leaker @LeagueOfLeaks on Twitter claims that the new Boyband will release with its own skin line by patch 13.22 and will focus on Ezreal, Yone, Kayn, and Sett.
However, if the Ateez performing for League of Legends as a boyband is legit then we have 4 more champions joining the roster. This means that we might be getting 4 more skins on top of the 4 the leak suggests for both League of Legends and Wild Rift. Now, we just need to wait for the official confirmation, although it might take up to a month for us to know more.
