The end of an era has come for TSM, one of the most prolific LoL Esports organizations in the Americas. The League of Legends team of TSM is selling its LCS spot to Shopify Rebellion starting in 2024.
When it comes to the American LoL Esports, TSM is one of the most popular and fan-favorite teams. However, their latest LCS runs were far from successful, leaving the team with the option to sell their spot in the League. According to a source close to Kellen Browning, New York Times reporter, Shopify Rebellion paid a whopping $10 million for TSM’s spot in the LCS, making it the 10th team to complete in 2024.

Dario “TLO” Wünsch’s statement on Shopify Rebellion’s introduction to the LCS reads:
“Entering League of Legends – one of the largest esports titles, with a rich competitive history—felt like an obvious next step for us as we continue to grow our presence in esports.”
As for TSM’s side, Andy Dinh the CEO and Founder of the team says the following:
“The acquisition of our LCS slot is a milestone moment for TSM and the entire esports community, especially by a team that shares our passion for excellence and growth. With the relentless pursuit of victory that has defined TSM, and the innovative spirit of Shopify Rebellion, we believe this move will ignite fresh success and further elevate the competitive landscape of esports.”
It remains to be seen what Shopify Rebellion will be like in action in the LCS. The organization is already active in other games like Dota 2, Rocket League, and Valorant with League of Legends being its newest insertion into esports.
