The scale is tipping once again in the LCK, after T1’s announcement that Faker is coming back after recovering from his arm injury. Only a week is left in the Korean tournament before the playoffs and with T1’s struggle to beat even the lowest of teams, it only makes sense for the organization to pull the Unkillable Demon King back from his hiatus.
In the past few weeks, T1 lost almost all its best-of-3 matches, even managing to strike losses against the lower teams in the ladder, OKSavingsBank BRION and DRX. Today marks the first day that Faker will be back in his role. Bringing back Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, has given T1 a much-needed win today against KDF, with him showing off his mastery on Jayce in both games.
Faker’s return to the LCK raises the question. Has he really recovered from his injury? Or is Faker back in the LCK just to ensure that T1 doesn’t lose their playoff spot? If the latter is the reality of the situation, then the player might strain his injured hand even more, resulting in further issues.
For what it’s worth, it’s always a blast seeing T1 Faker showing off his mechanical prowess against his opponents. Make sure to check out T1’s next game on August 4th, in their best-of-3 match against Liiv SANDBOX. The team has good chances of joining the playoffs right now, with today’s win meaning a strategic advantage in the standings.
LCK resumes tomorrow with OKSavingsBank BRION going against DRX and Hanwha Life Esports playing against Gen.g.
